Rhode Island Sports Center, located in North Smithfield, RI on the Massachusetts–Rhode Island border, is a 40,260-square-foot multi-purpose athletic facility designed to serve athletes at every level. The Sports Center features a single NHL-size ice sheet, dedicated strength and conditioning space, pro shop, concessions, and team areas supporting numerous college and high school programs. Built to support training, competition, and community engagement, Rhode Island Sports Center provides a high-quality environment for athletes, teams, and events throughout the region.

At the Rhode Island Sports Center, we pride ourselves on providing top-tier facilities for hockey enthusiasts of all levels. Our NHL-sized ice rink serves as the heart of rink, hosting hockey games and public skating events in a clean, well-maintained environment with spacious seating and a comfortable, warm viewing area for spectators. Complementing the rink is a dedicated strength and conditioning space equipped for athlete training, along with team areas supporting numerous college and high school programs. Visitors can gear up at our pro shop offering a wide range of skating equipment and apparel, and refuel at the Rink Side Cafe with convenient concessions. Whether you're here for competition, recreation, or skill development, our renovated facility ensures a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone.
rules of the rink
1. No pets allowed.
2. No roller blades, scooters or skateboards allowed.
3. No street hockey allowed.
4. No rough playing or ball throwing allowed.
5 No outside food or beverages allowed into the rink.
6. Safeguard all valuables. RI Sports Center is not responsible for loss or theft of property.
7. Only players and coaches are allowed into locker rooms.
8. No food, beverages, cameras or video cameras allowed in locker rooms.

zero tolerance
The RI Sports Center fully endorses USA Hockey's Zero Tolerance Policy Regarding Parents & Spectators.
The game will be stopped by on-ice officials when the parents/spectators displaying inappropriate and disruptive behavior interfere with other spectators or participants of the game. The on-ice officials will identify violators to the coaches for the purpose of removing parents/spectators from the spectator's viewing and game area. Once removed, play will resume. Lost time will not be replaced and violators may be subject to further disciplinary action by the local governing body. This inappropriate and disruptive behavior shall include:
- Using obscene or vulgar language in a boisterous manner to anyone at any time.
- Taunting players, coaches, officials or other spectators by means of baiting, ridiculing, threatening physical violence, or physical violence.
- Throwing any object in the spectator's viewing area, players bench, penalty box or the on-ice surface, that in any manner creates a safety hazard.
Any violators will be escorted from the facility and not allowed to return until the next day.

Our Rink
RISC features one NHL sized (85 x 200') ice sheet with plenty of seating along the side as well as a comfortable viewing area behind the net to stay warm during your child's game or practice!
The condition of our ice is unsurpassed. We challenge you to find a better ice surface anywhere!
